• Discover the mining, scientific, and cultural heritage of the state of Hidalgo.
• Understand the industrial processes and technological advances of the 19th and 20th centuries in Mexico.
• Foster an appreciation for nature, local legends, and the living history of Mexico’s “Magical Towns.”

ITINERARY OVERVIEW:

We depart from school heading toward Real del Monte, where we enjoy a traditional breakfast before starting our cultural adventure. We visit the Occupational Medicine Museum, the iconic Acosta Mine, and the La Dificultad mining complex, exploring historic tunnels equipped with helmets and flashlights. We will taste traditional pastes (savory Cornish-style pastries) and stroll through the town.

The following day, we explore the Santa María Regla Hacienda, the breathtaking Basaltic Prisms (volcanic rock formations), and the charming Magical Town of Huasca de Ocampo. We conclude the experience with a visit to the Goblin Museum (Museo de los Duendes) and a nature hike through the forest, where legend and science intertwine in a stunning natural setting.
